How To Apply For The RBI Assistant Exam Online?

Before starting to apply make sure to have all the necessary documents scanned and ready to upload. Be careful to avoid any errors in your personal details, as corrections are not allowed once the application is submitted.

Step 1: Visit the official Website

To begin the application process, visit the official RBI website. On the home page, you can find a Notification for the RBI Assistant Exam once it is officially announced.

Before applying, carefully read the official RBI Assistant recruitment notification. This document contains critical details like eligibility criteria, exam pattern, important dates, and other instructions related to the exam.

Step 2: Complete The First Time Registration

If you are a first-time applicant, you will need to register on the portal. Click on the New Registration link on the application page.

There are 6 main steps you have to do as below,


Fill in basic details that include your name, contact information, and email address. After submitting these details, you will receive a Registration ID and Password, which will be sent to your both registered mobile number and email ID. Keep these credentials safe for future logins.

Step 3: Fill The Online Application

Once registration is completed login by using your Registration ID and Password. Now, fill in the RBI Assistant application form by providing personal information such as name, date of birth, gender, nationality, and category (General, OBC, SC/ST, etc.).

Now you need to upload scanned files of certain documents. Ensure these documents meet the size and format requirements mentioned in the application form.

The first one is a recent passport-size colour photo (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm), typically in JPG or JPEG format. The file size should be between 20kb – 50kb. The next one is your signature, it must be on white paper with a black ink pen. The file size should be between 10 KB and 20 KB.

After that, you have to provide your educational qualifications, including the name of the institution, year of passing, and percentage or CGPA.

Then If you have prior work experience, provide details related to it. Next, you can select your preferred exam centers from the available options.

Before submitting the form, make sure all the information you’ve entered is correct and the documents are properly uploaded. There’s usually a Preview button to allow you to check for any discrepancies. 

Step 4: Upload Required Documents

Now you need to upload certain documents like left thumb Impression and handwritten declaration.

This should also be scanned and uploaded (required in JPEG format with a file size between 20 KB and 50 KB).

You’ll need to write a declaration in your handwriting stating that the information provided is correct. The text of the declaration will be given in the notification.

Step 5: Pay the Application Fee

After reviewing your form, proceed to pay the application fee online.

For OBC/General Candidates it will be Rs. 450 and For SC/ST/PWD/EXS Candidates it will be Rs. 50. Ensure that the transaction is successful and save the payment receipt for future reference.

Step 6: Submit the Application

Once the payment is successful, click on the “Submit” button to finalize your application. After submission, you’ll receive a confirmation email and SMS.

It’s always good to download and print the final application form for your records. This contains your registration details, which you might need later during the exam process.

After the application process is over, keep an eye on the official website for updates about the admit card. You can download it by logging in with your Registration ID and Password.
