  1. Nationality: The applicants must be of Indian nationality or of government-specified requirements as i.e. subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee migrated to India before 1 January 1962. 
  2. Educational Qualification: For undergraduate posts, the candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a known board. For graduate posts, the candidate should have a bachelor’s degree from a known university.
  3. Age Limit: For undergraduate posts: 18-30 years.For graduate posts: 18-33 years. Age relaxation for reserved classes is as per government guidelines.

Exam Pattern

The selection process of RRB NTPC involves several stages, i.e., two Computer-Based Tests (CBT), typing test (for some posts), document verification, and a medical examination.

CBT Stage 1 (Prelims)

This is the preliminary stage of screening, which includes:

Mathematics – 30 questions

General Intelligence & Reasoning – 30 questions

General Awareness – 40 questions

Total Marks: 100

Duration: 90 minutes

CBT Stage 2 (Mains)

Candidates only who are able to qualify Stage 1 will be invited to Stage 2. Stage 2 comprises:

Mathematics – 35 questions

General Intelligence & Reasoning – 35 questions

General Awareness – 50 questions

Total Marks: 120

Duration: 90 minutes

Typing Skill Test (For Clerk & Typist Posts)

Applicants applying for the posts of Junior Clerk, Accounts Clerk, and other posts are required to undergo a typing test.

Upon passing the tests, the candidates face document verification and medical examination before selection.
